Chris Schurmann, CFP® has been with Summit since January of 2022, and during his time at the firm he obtained his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses held through LPL Financial, and went on to pass the CFP® Exam in July of 2024. Chris serves as Summit’s Chief Compliance Officer as well as a Senior Associate on our Service Team. Chris enjoys building meaningful relationships with clients and helping them bring long-term goals into focus by simplifying complex plans into an understandable and actionable format. Chris brings a wealth of practical knowledge to our clients and has a hand in all areas of the firm. 

Chris graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2018 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Legal Studies. His educational background allows him to think abstractly about the effects of many different aspects of financial planning that might otherwise go unaddressed. Financial plans often become complex, and providing a “Big Picture” lens and ensuring our clients can be confident that they are in good hands is where Chris excels most. 

Chris and his wife Sarah met at the University of Mississippi, and now they live in Eagan along with their son Kenji and their two Great Danes, Merle and Lottie. When Chris has time, he enjoys learning new things, teaching difficult concepts, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
